On March 23, 2022, Gov. Jim Justice of West Virginia signed Senate Bill 213, making West Virginia the fifth state to join the Counseling Compact.
On March 24, 2022, Gov. Spencer Cox of Utah signed Senate Bill 237, making Utah the sixth state to join the Counseling Compact.
The compact now has more than half the number of states needed to activate the compact, as the compact will operationalize once ten states have enacted it.
